  Adult Education

Beth Am sanctuary Free, independent inquiry has been a hallmark of Beth Am from its beginning.

Hebrew Classes
Both introductory and intermediate classes enable adults to develop fluency and familiarity with the prayer book.

Torah Study
Participants read about and discuss Biblical personalities and events from a variety of perspectives.

Evening Lectures
These popular programs focus on an in-depth analysis of a single issue of Jewish interest. Evening programs are offered in the spring and fall with guest lecturers. For 2009–2010, Adult Education and Social Action have joined forces to engage in special programs related to Judaism and the environment.

Adult B'nai Mitzvah Class
Adults prepare for a B'nai Mitzvah. Classes are scheduled based upon demand.

Trope Classes
Haftarah and torah trope classes introduce the melodies used in chanting haftarah and torah readings. Classes are scheduled based upon demand.

People's Talmud Program
Held after Kiddush lunch several times during the year. This is a project developed by one of our congregants where individuals discuss how Judaism applies to their lives.

Please check the calendar for dates and details regarding our programming. Call the Synagogue Office at 410-523-2446 with any questions.
