Jonathan Eig’s book, King: A Life, has since received multiple positive book reviews in national press including The New York Times, The New Yorker, and The Washington Post.
Dwight Garner of The New York Times calls Eig’s book a “supple, penetrating, heartstring-pulling and compulsively readable new biography.”
Kelefa Sanneh of The New Yorker writes Eig provides “a sober and intimate portrait of King’s short life… Eig captures the ferocity of the forces that opposed King: dogs, bombs, Klansmen, and, above all, segregationists wielding legal and political authority.”
Gillian Brockell of The Washington Post quoting Peniel E Joseph as saying Eig’s biography, King: A Life, “‘terrific’ research was ‘setting the historical record straight.’”
