Beth Am Members
Under the revised 2025 Dues and Fees Structure, the cost of High Holy Day tickets for members is a component of your overall membership dues (One Adult Household = 1 High Holy Day Ticket / Two Adults Household = 2 High Holy Day Tickets. Children 18 and under receive a free ticket). Nevertheless, we are grateful for your support and ask that you consider a High Holy Day donation to support our community. All attendees, including members, are expected to fill out the form. Due to heightened security measures, it’s important we know who will be joining us for services.
Non-Members and Young Adults
Tickets are $180 per non-member. Tickets for Young Adults (ages 19 – 39 years old) will be on a sliding scale by increments of $18, please choose the ticket price option in Section C that you are most comfortable with.

You will hear soon from Board members and other volunteers who give their time each year to reach out to ask fellow congregants to support the ODAF. The campaign goal this year is $483,000. This significant increase of 15% will allow Beth Am to respond to growing numbers of congregants – including young members, members facing financial hardship, and senior members – who are unable pay full dues. Please be as generous as you can be!

Beth Am congregants and friends will join Baltimore City Rec and Parks to help clean the harbor while getting beautiful and unique views of the city! We provide certified staff and equipment for paddling and cleaning up all the rain leftovers from the shoreline of Middle Branch Park. Seasonal snacks and water will be available for those participating in the day. Feel free to bring your canoe or kayak if you prefer. We are submitting up to 2 people at a time for a canoe. If you need a second canoe, please submit a second registration. If you only need one spot, we will combine you with others who do not have a partner.
According to Parks and Rec’s protocol, the youngest age that can safely ride in our canoes is 8 and up, and they recommend that youth are accompanied by a parent or guardian until age 12 and up. Please bring a signed copy of this waiver with you to the park to participate in the Canoe and Scoop.

Rosh Hashanah Days 1 & 2 and Yom Kippur Morning

Camp Tekiyah is Beth Am’s High Holy Day experience for children in grades K-6. Led by a team of educators and volunteers, students will have the opportunity to explore the holidays through music, hands-on activities, stories, and conversation. Children will be split into groups based on grade and rotate through stations meant for them to most fully observe the holiday and build community within Beth Am! Camp Tekiyah will take place from 9:30 am until 1 PM on both days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, with lunch provided.

Led by our wonderful Abby Woloff, our Family Services invite children in grades K–6 and their families to experience the High Holidays through joyful music, meaningful prayer, engaging stories, and interactive moments that bring the ruach (spirit) of the season to life.
Rosh Hashanah Day 1, Yom Kippur Morning, and Kol Nidre
8:30 AM – 9:15 AM, followed by courtyard activities
Led by Rav Tyler Dratch and Abby Woloff, our Tots Service is a warm and whimsical High Holiday worship experience for children ages 0–5 and their grownups, filled with joyful music, movement, storytelling, and simple rituals designed especially for our youngest children.
Rosh Hashanah Days 1 & 2, Yom Kippur Morning, and Kol Nidre

Beth Am will provide professional childcare for the youngest ones, ages 2-5. Toilet-trained children preferred. You will be welcome to drop off your youngest children for free play, a snack, and music and activities connected to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Lunch will be provided on Rosh Hashanah days 1 and 2, and Yom Kippur.

When are the High Holy Days this year?
Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on Friday, September 11nd at 6:45 pm and ends Sunday, September 13th. Yom Kippur begins at sundown on Sunday, September 20th and ends at nightfall Monday, September 22st. See the full schedule on our calendar here, or at the top of this page.
Do I need to register for services?
Yes. We ask that all attendees register so we can plan for seating, accessibility, and security. Yes! Guests are welcome. If you are a member of another Conservative synagogue, please provide a letter of reciprocity to frontdesk@bethambaltimore.org to receive a free ticket. If you are not a member of another synagogue, you will need to purchase a non-member ticket through our registration page. You can register here.

Accessibility & Accommodations
Is the building accessible for wheelchairs or mobility aids?
Yes. Our building entrance includes a wheel chair ramp, an elevator from the entrance level to the sanctuary, wheelchair and accessible seating in the sanctuary and accessible restrooms. If you have specific needs, let us know when you register in the section of the form related to accommodations.
Will there be ASL interpretation or hearing assistance?
We do not provide ASL interpretation. However, we do have a Loop accessible section of the sanctuary. Please include any accommodation needs in the registration form.
Is there accessible parking or drop-off?
Yes. Beth Am has a drop-off zone available near the entrance of the building located on Chauncey Avenue. Volunteers will be present to guide you.
Can I bring a sensory-support or comfort item?
Absolutely. We strive to make our space inclusive for all neurotypes and sensory needs. Please feel comfortable bringing what helps you feel grounded.
Services & Rituals
What should I expect during services?
Our services include Hebrew prayers, some English readings, sermons, and traditional melodies. Transliteration is available within the Machzor to assist those who find this supportive of their practice. Within the Machzor, you’ll find options for reflection, learning, and songs.
What should I wear?
We encourage “respectful attire” that makes you feel comfortable and present for this sacred time. Our building is over 100 years old and the temperature may fluctuate within the Sanctuary. We recommend wearing appropriate layers with a light sweater/shawl/jacket in case you need it.
Do I need to understand Hebrew to participate?
No. Our prayer books include transliterations and translations. Some readings and teachings are in English, and our rabbis guide everyone through the service.
Can I participate if I’m from a different faith background or exploring Judaism?
Yes. We warmly welcome interfaith families, seekers, and those curious about Jewish tradition. Feel free to participate in whatever way feels meaningful to you. You can register here.
Family & Children
Are there family-friendly services or programming for children?
Yes! We offer a young families services (RH Day 1 and YK) for families with children 0-5 years old; childcare for potty trained children 5 and under; and, Camp Tekiah for elementary and middle school children including a services. Please contact Leah Miller (leah@bethambaltimore.org) with questions about age-appropriate options. All family services require registration. You can register here.
Can my child stay with me in the sanctuary?
Of course. Children of all ages are welcome in the sanctuary. If they need a break, there is a room called the Room of Requirements to the right of the Bima. This room is sound proof where you may take small children and still be able to hear the service. School age children should be in services with their parents or in Camp Tekiah. For safety reasons, they may not be roaming through the building without an adult. The courtyard is also available for children who need some time outside while accompanied by an adult.
Are bathrooms with changing tables available?
Yes. The restroom in the Moadon located on the ground floor has a preschool sized bathroom with a changing table. There are also changing rooms in the gender-neutral bathroom just after you walk past the security desk on the ground floor and in the women’s room just down the hall from that bathroom.
Virtual & Livestream Options
Are services available online?
Yes. We will livestream our main services here. We do ask that you purchase a ticket (if you do not receive one with your membership or reciprocity letter). You can register here.
Can I borrow a machzor (prayer book)?
We ask all members of the synagogue to purchase a Machzor in advance of the holy days and bring them with you. We do have a small number of Machzors available on-site.
Community & Support
I’m nervous to come back to synagogue after a long time. What should I know?
You’re not alone and you’re very welcome. Whether it’s your first time ever or first time in a while at services, our ushers, greeters, staff, congregants, and clergy are here to help you feel at home. Beth Am is dedicated to making our congregants and visitors feel at home within our spaces. Feel free to reach out to one of our rabbis if you have any questions.
