The synagogue depends on the Open Doors Annual Fund for about one-third of its operating budget. The annual donations of congregants above and beyond dues are essential to support what makes Beth Am a distinctive community: Excellent Rabbinic leadership, innovative youth and adult education, deep social justice initiatives, and Kiddush lunch gatherings on Shabbat.
Most importantly, gifts to the Open Doors Annual Fund enable Beth Am to keep the synagogue’s doors open to all regardless of means. Beth Am does not turn away anyone for whom paying dues is an obstacle, and revenue from the Open Doors Annual Fund has allowed the Board of Trustees to hold membership dues flat for two consecutive years.
We ask each member to consider their unique place in the Beth Am community and to support the Open Doors Annual Fund in a way that is meaningful to them. In return, Beth Am promises to continue to open doors to spiritual growth, learning, and community.
