For five decades, Beth Am has grown through the voices and contributions of its members. This collection of stories, photos, and video highlights the diverse experiences that have woven our community together. May these reflections remind us of all we’ve built, and inspire what we will continue to build.
"Our daughter is a public school teacher on the New York's upper west side. One of her first years teaching, her class was waiting for class pictures and she asked her third grade students what they were doing over the three day weekend? (NYC gets off for Rosh Hashanah) A boy, Jack, said he was going to Baltimore to go to shul with his grandmother. Intrigued, Laura asked which shul. Jack said, I don't know the name but it is near a lake and there are flowers on the steps. And what is the name of your grandma? Elaine Freeman. Well, our daughter said, when you get to your seat at shul, turn around, because I will be seated behind you."

"Mike and I were married at Beth Am in 2015. Beth Am does indeed feel like home, and we couldn't think of a better place for such an important affair. Rav Burg and Cantor Emeritus Greenstein officiated, and everything was just perfect."
"I woke up this morning to find this bouquet of mums on my porch on the 900 block of Brooks Lane. All the neighbors mysteriously have bouquets too. Not sure why or where they came from, but thank you 🌸"
